ABOUT ME

Welcome! My name is Dave Dashiell, and I’m an editor and writer originally from Maryland. I’m a Catholic, a husband, and a father. Since 2020, my freelance work has been my main source of income, and I’ve worked with seven different publishing houses on over two hundred projects in that time frame. I have a passion for the written word and detail, and I’m enthusiastic about communicating something truly meaningful.

Truth, goodness, and beauty are major motivations of mine, and I see them reflected in the endless perfection of God. I am constantly appreciating the wonders that God has baked into creation as expressed in nature, literature, music, movies, and the dramatic events of history.

The critical moments of life and the trials and triumphs of saints, sinners, and celebrities draw me into reflection on the deeper truths of God and creation. I strive to communicate these deeper truths and help others do so through my own writing and poetry and through my copyediting and proofreading work.

When I’m not editing or writing, I’m spending time with my wife and kids, enjoying the outdoors, playing the drums, listening to music, talking with friends, or any number of things in between.

  • Proofreading

    I read your manuscript just before the final pass and printing. Looking for every out-of-place detail, I leave comments and provide all missing information.

  • Copyediting

    I read your manuscript at the final stage before layout. While reading every word, I correct formatting, typographical, and grammatical errors and complete all citations that are missing information.

  • Writing/Ghostwriting

    I write a book, post, or otherwise for your platform or help you to put your ideas into words. Whatever stage in the process you contact me in, I can help you solidify your message and complete your manuscript.
